Trash and Recycling
** Starting April 1st 2025, Trash, Recycling will move from Friday to Tuesdays**
- APRIL 1ST will also be the first pick up for the new trash vendor KC Disposal.
** Starting April 8th, 2025 Glass Recycling will move from Friday to Tuesdays.**
Refuse and Recycling pickup is provided weekly by KC Disposal, currently on Tuesdays. Trash and recycling containers can be placed curbside no earlier than 6 PM on the day prior, and must not be left curbside more than 48 hours after pickup. Please note, when a holiday falls on a weekday, service will be delayed by one day.
Each home was provided 65-gallon containers. They will only collect bagged trash that fits in the provided container. Trash that does not fit in the container will not be picked up without an overage sticker attached. Overage stickers may be purchased from Overland Park City Hall.
- No yard waste is allowed in trash containers
- Yard waste consists of tied bundles of branches, less than 100 lbs., and paper yard waste bags.
- The tied bundles of sticks/twigs can be no longer than 4 ft in length and 18 inches in diameter. The paper bags have a weight limit of 35lb.
- Curbside recycling is optional - a recycling container has been provided by the trash hauler.
- By city ordinance, hauler-issued trash and recycling containers may be stored within two feet of any side of a home. No screening is required. However, any additional containers must be screened from view or stored inside your garage.
- Bulky Item pickup will happen one time a year on a specified date by the trash hauler and the HOA. At that time you will be allowed up to 5 bulky items. Please click here to see the list of acceptable and non acceptable bulky items.
Recycle materials are paper, cardboard, #1-#7 plastic, aluminum & steel cans. No glass, Styrofoam, plastic bags, food soiled items, tissues, waxed paper.
* If your unit is missed for collections call the KC Disposal team at 816-388-9739 and submit a missed pickup ticket.
Glass Recycling Schedule for 2026 (subject to change):
Every 2nd and 4th Tuesday, Crush Glass will be in the neighborhood to collect glass recycling. The dates for 2025 are as follows:
